Tucker Carlson: Where did Trump get the idea that Iran would collapse swiftly?

John Kiriakou: He could only have gotten that idea from Benjamin Netanyahu.

That's it, because the CIA analysis has been consistent over the course of decades.

We can't just fire a couple of rockets and take down a government in a country of 93 million people.

That's just not the way real life works.

They're going to rally around their leadership because we're outsiders.

Kid Rock flew to Fort Belvoir this morning on his private jet and took a joy ride in two Apache helicopters with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

Apaches typically have two pilots, but they reportedly flew with just one so both men could ride shotgun.

Ukraine Slams Israel Over Stolen Grain Ship

After Ukraine warned that a second Russian-linked ship (Panormitis) was carrying stolen Ukrainian grain to Haifa, Israelโ€™s top diplomat tried to brush off the complaint.

โ€œAllegations are not evidence,โ€ Gideon Saโ€™ar replied, despite Kyivโ€™s previous warnings about a similar vessel.

Ukraine has now summoned Israelโ€™s ambassador, accusing it of enabling Russian war profiteering.

Germany is seeing a surge in people refusing military service.

Applications jumped from 137 (2020) to nearly 3,900 (2025), and in early 2026 alone, 2,656 people already applied, putting the country on track for a record year.

The surge is driven by a new military reform law requiring young men to register and be screened & the possibility that mandatory service could return.

Israel has refused to transfer this monthโ€™s tax revenues it collects on behalf of the Palestinian Authority, intensifying economic pressure on the already struggling administration.

According to the Finance Ministry led by Bezalel Smotrich, around 740 million shekels were collected, but about 590 million were unilaterally deducted to cover alleged debts to Israeli utilities and agencies.

Trump and his national security team are skeptical of Iranโ€™s latest proposal, which would reopen the Strait of Hormuz while delaying nuclear negotiations.

During Monday discussions, Trump did not reject the offer outright but questioned whether Iran is acting in good faith or willing to meet his core demand: ending uranium enrichment and committing not to develop nuclear weapons.

Officials say the U.S. will continue talks, with the White House expected to respond and possibly present counterproposals in the coming days.

Senate Republicans are increasingly losing confidence in Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, with some saying he wouldnโ€™t be confirmed today and should โ€œmove on,โ€ though the decision rests with Trump.

Concerns center on turmoil at the Pentagon, including the ouster of Army chief Randy George and firing of Navy Secretary John Phelan.

Sen. Thom Tillis said Hegseth is โ€œmaking some less-than-ideal personnel decisionsโ€ and added โ€œthereโ€™s no question heโ€™s got a failing gradeโ€ on management skills.

Sen. Joni Ernst called Georgeโ€™s removal โ€œa mistake,โ€ while Rep. Tom Cole described it as โ€œa real loss.โ€

Sen. Lisa Murkowski said she was โ€œshockedโ€ by the firing, adding: โ€œWeโ€™re in the middle of a warโ€ฆ not good.โ€

Lawmakers are also uneasy about Hegsethโ€™s clashes with Army Secretary Dan Driscoll and policy moves like ending mandatory flu shots.

Mexican President Sheinbaum is trying to cooperate with Trump, but itโ€™s putting her under pressure at home.

She has made concessions to the U.S. (on border security, trade, and cartel crackdowns) to avoid conflict and protect Mexicoโ€™s economy. However, Trump keeps demanding more, including possible U.S. military action against cartels.

A recent incident involving CIA agents in Mexico increased tensions, and her restrained response drew criticism. Meanwhile, her approach is upsetting parts of her political base.

Overall, she is stuck balancing avoiding conflict with the U.S. while maintaining support at home, and her strategy may be weakening her politically without satisfying Trump.

Trump is unhappy with Iranโ€™s latest proposal to end the war because it delays talks on Iranโ€™s nuclear program. Iran wants a ceasefire and the U.S. blockade lifted first, with negotiations happening in stages.

The U.S. insists nuclear issues must be addressed immediately, so both sides remain far apart.

Iran is running out of places to store its oil, with only about 12 to 22 days of capacity left.

Because the U.S. naval blockade has cut exports by roughly 70%, shipments through the Strait of Hormuz have nearly stopped, and no tankers are getting through.

If this continues, Iran may be forced to cut production by another 1.5 million barrels per day by mid-May, on top of the large reductions already made.

Even so, the financial impact wonโ€™t be immediate, since oil shipments take time to reach buyers and payments are delayed, giving Iran a few months of breathing room despite the growing supply crunch.
