CNN on after Trump learned Supreme Court’s ruling on tarrifs:

The breakfast had been going well. They were working together, and then President Trump became enraged.

He started ranting about the decision, not only calling it a disgrace, but also attacking the courts — at one point reportedly saying, “these FUCKING courts,” using the actual language.

The U.S. has reportedly built a website, https://freedom.gov, that would allow Europeans to access content restricted under their national laws, including hate speech and extremist material.

Developed by the State Department, the portal promotes “digital freedom” but has not yet officially launched.

NEW: Germany urges its citizens in Iran to leave immediately, warning that the security situation is highly volatile and could worsen rapidly.

Hungary has blocked a planned €90bn EU loan to Ukraine, just days before the fourth anniversary of Russia’s invasion.

The loan, agreed in December to help cover Kyiv’s looming budget gap, requires unanimous approval — and Budapest has vetoed it.

I am ashamed of certain members of the Court — absolutely ashamed — for not having the courage to do what’s right for our country.

Foreign countries that have been ripping us off for years are ecstatic — they’re so happy.

They’re dancing in the streets, but they won’t be dancing for long, I can assure you.

Trump:

The Democrats on the Court are thrilled, but they automatically vote no. Just like in Congress, they are an automatic “no.”

They’re against anything that makes America strong, healthy, and great again.

Trump:

It’s my opinion that the Court has been swayed by foreign interests and by a political movement that is far smaller than people think. It’s a small movement.

Trump:

Our stock market has just recently broken 50,000 on the Dow.

And, simultaneously — even more amazingly — it broke 7,000 on the S&P.

Trump:

Tariffs have likewise been used to end five of the eight wars that I settled.

I settled eight wars, whether you like it or not, including India and Pakistan — big ones that could have turned nuclear.

Trump on tariffs:

Other alternatives will now be used to replace the ones the Court incorrectly rejected.

Trump:

I’m going to go in a different direction — probably the direction I should have gone in the first time.

I read the language. I’m very good at reading language.

Trump:

While I am sure that they did not mean to do so, the Supreme Court's decision today made a President's ability to both regulate trade and impose tariffs more powerful and more crystal clear, rather than less.

Trump:

Effective immediately, all national security tariffs under Section 232 and all existing Section 301 tariffs remain fully in place and in full force and effect.

Today, I will sign an order to impose a 10% global tariff under Section 122, over and above our normal tariffs already being charged.

Trump on tariffs:

I’m allowed to destroy the country. I’m even allowed to impose a devastating embargo on a foreign country.

I can embargo them. I can do anything I want — but I can’t charge one dollar.

Trump on tariffs:

They make steel products, and I said, “How are you? Nice to meet you. How’s business, president?” He said, “I’d love to kiss you.”

This is a very powerful man — a very strong man. I don’t want to be kissed by that man, but he’s a very powerful, strong man. He’s been in the steel business for many years. His father started it.

And he said, “Sir, I want to kiss you.” I said, “Why?” He said, “Because we were down to working one hour a week, and then you came in and imposed tariffs, and all of that foreign junk they were dumping into our country stopped.”
