When I was foreign minister, I was flying around Africa. There was clearly a Turkish presence everywhere.

On two occasions, I even found President Erdogan on the ground. So yes, Türkiye has been extremely successful.

So let’s ask the Americans to produce a picture of the future—how they wish the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East to look in 10 years or 20 years, according to their interests.

Then go to Ankara and ask the same question to President Erdogan: to project in a picture how he would like that region to look in 10 or 20 years.

Now, how similar do you think those two pictures will be? I think they will not be similar at all. They will be totally different.

So that’s my answer to the United States: what do you want? What serves your interest—the Israeli point of view or the Turkish point of view? Act according to your interests.

Achilles Shield is a much more holistic approach than anything that exists. It is far more comprehensive than Iron Dome or the Golden Dome because it includes everything—every kind of challenge, whether coming from space, cyberspace, the sea, under the sea, the air, ballistic missiles, or cruise missiles.

Whatever the threat, we are working with Israel on this. We are asking Israel for help and assistance, but not as was done in the past by simply purchasing platforms or weapon systems. We are not going to do that.

We are going to produce at least 50 percent of these systems ourselves, while also acquiring the know-how. We want the extremely efficient and successful Israeli innovation ecosystem to work together with our own ecosystem.
