Donald Trump has a new title listed on Wikipedia:

“Chairman of the Board of Peace.”

Zelensky:

Just last year, here in Davos, I ended my speech with the words, “Europe needs to know how to defend itself.”

A year has passed, and nothing has changed.

Zelensky:

Everyone gave attention to Greenland, and it is clear most leaders are not sure what to do about it.

It seems like everyone is just waiting for America to cool down on this topic, hoping it will pass away.

But what if it will not—what then?

Zelensky:

There was so much talk about the protests in Iran, but they drowned in blood.

The world has not helped enough the Iranian people; it has stood aside.

By the time politicians started forming positions, the Ayatollah had already killed thousands.

What will Iran become after this bloodshed? If the regime survives, it sends a clear signal to every bully: kill enough people and you stay in power.

Zelensky:

Maduro is on trial in New York, sorry but Putin is not on trial?

Zelensky:

Why can Trump stop tankers from the shadow fleet and seize oil, but Europe does not?

Zelensky:

Russian oil is being transported right along Europe’s shores, and that oil is funding the war against Ukraine. This directly contributes to destabilizing Europe.

Russian oil must be stopped, confiscated, and sold for Europe’s benefit. Why not? If Putin has no money, there is no war. If Europe has the resources, it can protect its people.

Zelensky:

Today, Europe relies mainly on the belief that if danger comes, NATO will act. But no one has ever really seen the alliance tested in full.

If Putin decided to take Lithuania or strike Poland, who would respond?

NATO exists thanks to the belief that the United States will act — that it will not stand aside and will help. But what if it does not?

Zelensky:

Europe must learn how to defend itself. Sending 14 or 40 soldiers to Greenland — what is that meant to achieve? What message does that send to Putin? To China? And perhaps most importantly, what message does it send to Denmark?

Zelensky on Greenland:

We know what to do if Russian warships go near Greenland, Ukraine can help with that.

They can sink near Greenland just as they do near Crimea.

Zelensky on Iran:

Everyone is waiting to see what the United States will do — while the rest of the world offers nothing. Europe offers nothing and chooses not to engage.

Zelensky:

Belarus in 2020 is the clearest example. No one helped its people. And now Russian Oreshnik missiles are deployed in Belarus, with ranges that reach most European capitals.

That would not have happened if the Belarusian people had prevailed in 2020.

BREAKING: Macron:

This morning, the French Navy boarded an oil tanker coming from Russia, subject to international sanctions and suspected of flying a false flag.

The operation was conducted on the high seas in the Mediterranean, with the support of several allies.

A judicial investigation has been opened and the vessel has been diverted.

We are determined to uphold international law and enforce sanctions, as the activities of the “shadow fleet” help finance the war of aggression against Ukraine.

Zelensky:

Russia is able to produce missiles only because there are still ways to bypass sanctions. Everyone sees how Russia is trying to freeze Ukrainians to death — at temperatures of minus 20 degrees Celsius.

Russia could not build ballistic or cruise missiles without critical components sourced from other countries. And it is not just China. Too often, people hide behind the excuse that China alone helps Russia. Yes, China does — but not only China.

Russia also receives components from companies in Europe, the United States, and Taiwan.

Europe says nothing, America says nothing, Putin keeps making missiles.

NEW: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan spoke by phone with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.

They discussed Türkiye–Iran relations and regional issues.

Erdogan said Türkiye is closely following developments in Iran, values Iran’s stability, opposes any external intervention, and stressed that preventing escalation in the region is in Türkiye’s interest.

Zelensky:

Wouldn’t it be cheaper and easier simply to cut Russia off from the components it needs to produce missiles — or even destroy those factories making missiles? Last year, most of the time was spent debating whether Ukraine should receive long-range weapons.

Now, no one is even talking about it — yet Russian missiles and Shahed drones are still flying. We still know the coordinates of the factories where they are produced today. They are targeting Ukraine now, but tomorrow it could be any NATO country.

And here in Europe, we are constantly told what not to mention: don’t talk about Tomahawks, don’t bring up certain missile systems like Taurus, don’t offend this ally or that one.

When it’s Türkiye, diplomats say, “Don’t offend Greece.” When it’s Greece, they say, “Be careful with Türkiye.”

Zelensky:

Instead of becoming a truly global power, Europe remains a beautiful but fragmented of small and middle powers. Instead of taking decisive responsibility for defending freedom worldwide — especially as America’s focus shifts elsewhere — Europe appears lost.

Some try to convince the U.S. President to change course. But he will not change.

President Trump loves who he is. He says he loves Europe — but he will not listen to this kind of Europe.

Zelensky on Europe:

Europe still feels like more like a geography, history, a tradition, not real political force.

Not a great power.

Zelensky:

You cannot build a new world order out of words alone. Only actions create real order.

Zelensky:

We should not accept the idea that Europe is merely a salad of small and medium-sized powers, seasoned with enemies of Europe.

When we are united, we are truly invincible. Europe can — and must — be a global force. Not one that reacts late, but one that defines the future.

Zelensky at Davos:

You need Ukraine's independence because tomorrow you may have to defend your way of life.
