Trump on Iran protests:

Iran is in serious trouble. It looks to me like the people are taking control of certain cities — something nobody thought was really possible just a few weeks ago.

Trump on Iran protests:

I’ve made it very clear that if they start killing people the way they have in the past, we will get involved. We will hit them very hard where it hurts.

That does not mean boots on the ground, but it does mean hitting them very, very hard where it hurts.

Trump on Syria:

We get along with both the Kurds and the Syrian government — as you know, very well.

They have been natural enemies over the years, but we have good relations with both, and we want to see Syria succeed.

So far, I think there has been progress, but this violence is just breaking out again, and we want to see it stopped.

Trump on Colombia’s Petro:

He’s been very hostile toward us — toward the country and toward me. He called me a dictator and said a lot of other things. He called Biden some terrible names too, far worse than what he called me.

But he reached out yesterday through intermediaries and said he wants to meet. That’s fine with me. I’ve made up with people before, you know.

So we’re going to have a meeting, and we actually had a very good conversation.

Trump: Yeah, I am going to meet a lot of people...

Trump on Machado:

We also have a young woman who received the Nobel Peace Prize who is going to come in.

She’s coming to pay her respects to our country — really to me, but as you know, I represent the country, nothing more.

She’ll be coming sometime next week — I think Tuesday or Wednesday — and we’ll see how that goes.

Trump on the Nobel Peace Prize:

Norway is very embarrassed by what took place.

They are getting decimated.

Trump:

I can't think of anybody in history that should get the Nobel Prize more than me.

Obama got the Nobel Prize, he still has no idea why he got it.

Trump:

People of Venezuela are going wild over this.

They named a street after President Trump.

You attack a country and they name a street after you, that has never happened before.

Trump on Iran:

I say to the Iranian leaders: you’d better not start shooting, because we’ll start shooting too.

Trump:

President Putin is not afraid of Europe. He’s afraid of the United States of America when it is led by me.

Europe is a different place. Europe is changing. Europe has to get its act together. I love Europe.

Trump on Greenland:

I would like to make a deal the easy way, if we don't do it the easy way, we are going to do it the hard way.

Trump on Greenland:

The fact that they landed a boat there 500 years ago doesn’t mean they own the land.

Trump:

If you look just outside Greenland right now, there are Russian destroyers, Chinese destroyers, and Russian submarines all over the place.

We are not going to let Russia or China occupy Greenland — because that’s exactly what they would do if we didn’t act.

So we are going to do something with Greenland, either the nice way or the more difficult way.

Reporter: Why is it so important to you to own Greenland when you already have a military presence there, which you could expand to address security concerns?

Trump: Because when we own it, we defend it.

You don’t defend leases the same way — you have to own it.

Countries need ownership, and you defend ownership. You don’t defend leases.

Trump:

I’m not talking about buying Greenland — though I might talk about that later — but right now, we are going to do something with Greenland, whether they like it or not.

Because if we don’t, Russia or China will take over Greenland, and we’re not going to have Russia or China as our neighbor.

Trump to NATO:

I saved NATO. If it were not for me, you would not have a NATO right now.

Trump:

We had a — Russia, I guess — sort of a semi-Russian ship yesterday that we took over, and Russia decided not to defend that ship against us. That was a big move.

Zelensky said he wants Trump to pursue a free-trade deal with Ukraine, including zero tariffs, as part of a postwar recovery and security package.
