Assad now lives quietly in a luxury tower in Moscow City — protected by Russia’s security services, surrounded by marble bathrooms and bodyguards, and reportedly addicted to online video games.

After his regime collapsed in December 2024, he fled to Moscow with his family. Under Vladimir Putin’s protection, he has vanished from public life.

Sources close to his former circle say he rarely leaves his apartments and spends long hours gaming online — his only escape from the isolation of exile.

BIG: Venezuela asked the U.N. Security Council for an emergency session over recent U.S. military actions near its waters.

Caracas warned of a possible armed attack “in a very short time.”

NEW: About 200 U.S. troops have started arriving in Israel to set up a civil-military coordination center during the Gaza ceasefire.

They won’t enter Gaza but will help manage humanitarian aid, logistics, and security assistance, and monitor progress toward civilian governance.

The setup is still in early stages and expected to take several weeks.
