Ukraine launched overnight drone and missile strikes on Russian-occupied Crimea, hitting key targets including the Feodosia fuel terminal—one of Russia’s main military oil depots—causing major fires and explosions.

Ukraine’s New Anti-Drone Arsenal

Ukraine is shifting to mass-produced interceptor drones to counter Russia’s swarming Shahed and Gerbera drones, filling the gap between costly missile systems and outdated anti-aircraft guns.

“The Sting”

A bullet-shaped, $2,100 “drone killer” by Wild Hornets, capable of speeds over 315 km/h. Claimed to have downed 600 Russian drones so far, with ~70% effectiveness.

Other interceptors by TAF Industries, Tytan Technologies (Germany), and Falcons — semi- or fully-autonomous systems guided by radar and AI.

Ukraine aims to deploy 1,000 interceptor drones daily, using three per Russian target for saturation defense. Production coordinated by Brave1, the state tech platform.

A single AIM-9X missile for NASAMS costs $1 million+, while a Sting costs less than $2,500—a 400× cheaper countermeasure.
