Turkish Presidency:

Our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, held a meeting with President of the United States Donald Trump in The Hague, where he is attending the NATO Heads of State and Government Summit.

During the meeting, Türkiye–U.S. bilateral relations, as well as regional and global issues, were discussed.

President Erdoğan emphasized that the two countries have great potential in various areas, particularly in energy and investment. He stated that advancing cooperation in the defense industry would significantly contribute to reaching the target of $100 billion in trade volume.

The President expressed his appreciation for the ceasefire achieved between Israel and Iran through President Trump’s efforts, hoping it would be permanent. He also stressed the importance of close dialogue in ending the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza as soon as possible and in reaching a peaceful resolution to the Russia–Ukraine war.

The two leaders, as leading Allies of NATO, underscored the importance of steps to be taken to strengthen the Alliance's deterrent power.

• In Tel Aviv-Jaffa, some shelters changed codes to exclude Arab neighbors.
