Namibia Holds First Genocide Remembrance Day

Namibia officially marked May 28 as Genocide Remembrance Day, commemorating the mass killings of Herero and Nama peoples by German colonial forces between 1904 and 1908—widely regarded as the first genocide of the 20th century.

Around 65,000 Herero and 10,000 Nama were killed through mass executions, forced displacement, starvation, and brutal experiments.

Germany acknowledged the genocide in 2021 and pledged €1 billion in development aid, but has not offered formal reparations.

Elon Musk Denies $300M xAI-Telegram Deal Finalized

Elon Musk has denied that xAI signed any formal deal with Telegram, despite CEO Pavel Durov’s announcement of a $300 million partnership to integrate Grok into the app.

Durov had claimed the deal included cash, equity, and 50% revenue sharing, set to launch in summer 2025. But Musk responded on X: “No deal has been signed.”

Durov later clarified the agreement was only “in principle.”
