U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth visited Panama to reaffirm cooperation on canal security, offering a softer stance than President Trump, who has called for the U.S. to "take back" the Panama Canal.

While Hegseth warned of Chinese influence through Hong Kong-based CK Hutchison Holdings Ltd., he emphasized partnership with Panama, not unilateral action.

“Together we will take back the canal from China’s influence,” Hegseth said, while praising Panama for taking the lead.

Judge Orders White House to Restore AP Access

A federal judge has ordered the White House to restore the Associated Press’s access to presidential events, ruling that barring the outlet over its refusal to use the term “Gulf of America” was unconstitutional.

Judge Trevor McFadden, a Trump appointee, said the move violated the AP’s First Amendment rights and amounted to viewpoint discrimination.

The White House has one week to appeal the decision.

Chinese Foreign Ministry:

China will continue to take resolute and effective measures to safeguard our legitimate rights and interests.

The U.S. continues to abuse tariffs to pressure China. China firmly opposes this and will never accept this kind of bullying.

If the United States really wants to solve the problem through dialogue and negotiation, it should adopt an attitude of equality, respect, and mutual benefit.

Trump’s Tariff Demands

📌 No retaliation allowed — just accept U.S. tariffs.
📌 Buy more American — especially defense equipment.
📌 Build factories in the U.S. — avoid tariffs by manufacturing on U.S. soil.
📌 Invest in U.S. manufacturing — directly support domestic industry.
📌 Write checks to the U.S. Treasury — literal payments to offset “global public goods” provided by America.

Algeria Emerges as Unexpected Su-35 Recipient

Satellite imagery confirms that at least one Su-35 Flanker M, originally built for Egypt, has been delivered to Algeria’s Ain Beida Air Base, defying earlier expectations of a transfer to Iran.

• A Russian An-124 transported the aircraft in early March 2025.

• By 10 March, satellite images showed a Su-35 with Algerian markings.

• At least four more Su-35s are confirmed to bear Algerian roundels at the Russian factory, suggesting further deliveries.

• Algeria already flies Su-30MKAs and has a confirmed order for the Su-57 Felon (Feb 2025). The Su-35s likely complement this expanding high-end fleet.
