Schools are teaching
ChatGPT, so students aren't left behind
βWhen college administrator Lance Eaton created a working spreadsheet about the generative AI policies adopted by universities last spring, it was mostly filled with entries about how to ban tools like ChatGPT.β
βBut now the list, which is updated by educators at both small and large US and international universities, is considerably different: Schools are encouraging and even teaching students how to best use these tools.β

AI could be used to eliminate teacher bias
Teachers would never allow it though, not until the robots fully tear the teaching profession from their hands.
1971, Griggs v. Duke Power Co. β Effectively made it illegal to use IQ tests of any kind in hiring employees
2005 β Elimination of the last piece of the SAT that was an effective test for any part of general intelligence (g)
2020 β Majority of universities drop standardized, non-human-judged testing admission requirements entirely, citing pandemic, but the change is mostly permanent
2023, Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard β Supreme court demands schools stop race-based discriminating, be more objective, schools openly mock the ruling, accelerate opposite direction.
50 years, slow enough that almost no one left in the who can remember it ever being any different
50 year slow total collapse of objective, non-human-judged, g-aligned testing. Gradual, intentional elimination of even the idea of objective merit.
No. Teachers as a whole will never willingly give up their ability to be wildly biased. Never.
But with AI, in more areas than ever, suddenly such a thing could, at last, even be possible.
Holy grail in annihilating the deep corruption of academia, eliminating corrupting human influence from all things now judged by man.
Will we live to see it?

Spoiler: ChatGPT-3.5, Bard, GPT-4, the twitter influencer who posted this, the reddit guy who copied it β and apparently nearly all of the thousands of humans on the internet whoβve answered the β25%, 50%, 60%, 25%β variant of this question β are nearly all wrong.
The correct answer to that β60%β variant is obviously 0%.
The version that DOES have a paradox is the β25%, 50%, 0%, 25%β variant, see confused cat.
My best guess as to why the massive failure:
(1) Both humans and GPT-4, I would guess, feel that the question says you must choose from one of the multiple choice options for the final answer, as thatβs what youβve had to do all of your life whenever youβve seen a multiple choice question β but thatβs not what the question says at all, this is a probability meta-question about a multiple choice question, instead of a multiple choice question, the answer is of type probability number, not of type (a) (b) (c) (d).
(2) ChatGPT-4, and nearly all humans, incorrectly pattern matched on the version with the paradox, even though this other version doesnβt have the paradox, and assumed the abswer is the same.
GPT-4 tricked you with the wordiness wordcel verbosity, just like the scammiest reddit comments all do.
