EPIC on Worldcoin
βWorldcoin is a potential privacy nightmare that offers a biometrics-dependent vision of digital identity and cryptocurrency, and would place Sam Altmanβs Tools for Humanity company at the center of digital governance. Worldcoinβs approach creates serious privacy risks by bribing the poorest and most vulnerable people to turn over unchangeable biometrics like iris scans and facial recognition images in exchange for a small payout. Mass collections of biometrics like Worldcoin threaten peopleβs privacy on a grand scale, both if the company misuses the information it collects, and if that data is stolen. Ultimately, Worldcoin wants to become the default digital ID and a global currency without democratic buy-in at the start, that alone is a compelling reason not to turn over your biometrics, personal information, and geolocation data to a private company. We urge regulatory agencies around the world to closely scrutinize Worldcoin.β
Only thing theyβre off the mark on is privacy. Worldcoin WANTS you to think this is all just whining about privacy.
Itβs about control, extreme exploitation, monopolization. This is among the most successful evil plans to take over the whole world weβve seen in decades, and now really starting to come together.

OpenAI Quietly Shuts Down Its AI Detection Tool
ChatGPT creator OpenAI quietly unplugged its AI detection tool, AI Classifier, last week because of βits low rate of accuracy,β the firm said. The explanation was not in a new announcement, but added in a note added to the blog post that first announced the tool. The link to OpenAI's classifier is no longer available.
OpenAI called the classifier "not fully reliable," adding that the evaluations on a βchallenge setβ of English texts correctly identified 26% of AI-written text as βlikely AI-written,β while incorrectly labeling the human-written text as AI-written 9% of the time.

Real is the New Sexy: The Influence of Perceived Realness on Self-Reported Arousal to Sexual Visual Stimuli
My take: A simulation of a hurricane may not be a real hurricane, but a simulation of a chess game is a real chess game.
In the same way, when it comes to attraction, image AIs create something fake, but textual AI create something real.
When an AI creates a sexy image, you're let down in that what it depicts is a fake fraud, but when a textual AI does your homework for you, solves a huge problem, or creates a great joke, it's exciting, it's something real.
I.e. the uncanny valley is forever. No amount of improvement makes it attractive. AI imagery never becomes physically attractive, except in combination with something real.
AI romance prediction: AI imagery will always be, at most, a supplement to the real part, provided by the text AI, and never be attractive enough on its own. That will remain the story for a long time, until robotics catches up.

Unfortunate bitter lesson of robotics
The robot revolution will always be 20 years away.
Cost of compute & AI intelligence improve exponentially via mooreβs law β while for nearly all of robotics, no similar effect applies at all. E.g. see windmill costs.
I.e. many have always assumed:
robotic girlfriends > video AI girlfriends > chatbot girlfriends
But, with the nature of progress, the biggest impact within our lifetimes will more likely be:
chatbot girlfriends > video AI girlfriends > robotic girlfriends
Hard to accept, I know. Moment of silence for robotic catgirl waifus.
