UK Civil servants warned against sharing state secrets with AI bot ChatGPT and to 'rigorously' question 'the software's bias'
'You should never put sensitive information or personal data into these tools. Beyond existing data protection laws, government has no oversight over how data, which is entered into web-based Generative AI tools, is then used.'
'Therefore, you should not put information into Generative AI tools that, if compromised or lost, could have damaging consequences for individuals, groups of individuals, an organisation or for government more generally. '
It also warns of the risk of bias, cautioning that Generative AI outputs can be susceptible to providing users with misinformation.
Civil service workers were encouraged to ask three 'H' questions when considering how they might be able to use the programs appropriately:
How your question will be used by the system? How answers from Generative AI can mislead? And: How Generative AI operates?

Many denying many things OpenAI is doing — for things that OpenAI has openly admitted to doing from the start.
Countless threads by those believing the LLM to be just an unbiased representation of the input internet training data… when OpenAI made it very clear since the the start that this is completely untrue, and the whole point of RLHF.
Countless believing that OpenAI hasn’t been crippling the reasoning power of their models with the new “turbo” versions, when OpenAI said that that was their purpose, for cost savings, from the start.
Countless believing lies ChatGPT tells about itself, even when Sam himself laughs and says of course those are lies.
Viral lies spreading so well, just because people instantly feel like they’re true, no needing to read past the headline, no thought.
Can’t reason a man out from which he did not reason himself into.
