In simple terms, it was a soundness issue in the Orchard shielded pool, creating invalid-state-transition / double-spend risk inside the privacy layer. It was not the same as a simple “infinite mint button” across the entire ZEC supply.

The known bug was fixed: Orchard actions were first disabled, then re-enabled with a corrected circuit / verification key through NU6.2.

So the bug was fixed. But confidence is not.
