The Risks Behind China's Rush to Promote Digital Yuan Should Not Be Underestimated

According to Beijing Business News, the e-CNY pilot version APP is the official service platform for the CCP's legal digital currency. It's still in testing stage.

As the countdown to the Beijing Winter Olympics enters, the CCP intends to expand the application of e-CNY before the Winter Olympics. In July 2021, the Communist Party announced that overseas visitors would be able to use e-CNY directly during the Beijing Winter Olympics and that e-CNY wearable devices would even be distributed to foreign athletes for free. Several U.S. federal senators sent a letter to the U.S. Olympic Committee on July 19, requesting that U.S. athletes be prohibited from obtaining or using e-CNYs during the Beijing Winter Olympics because the CCP would use e-CNYs to carry out surveillance. —— CReaders Report
