Florida law states candidates must resign from their posts no later than 10 days before qualifying for office; yet he is still campaigning under the guise of a “book deal”

Desantis will be taking a month-long taxpayer-funded presidential campaign, Georgia, Pennsylvania, New York, Michigan, Ohio, New Hampshire, Utah, Texas, &South Carolina, and now has added Japan, South Korea, Israel & the UK to his travel plans to score foreign policy points.

Ron Desantis resigned from Congress to run for Governor in 2018, as he said “it was inappropriate to accept a salary when he would be missing a vast majority of session days.”

Why the change of heart?

He’s going to be paid his full Governor’s salary, and because he has not formed a campaign committee, Florida tax-payers are going to be paying for it all. All travel costs & security detail.

He’s not resigning, he’s by law vacating a 4-year term that cannot be extended past a single 4 year term. It’s already been determined he will retire. Not a big deal imo.

Milley was appointed October 1, 2019.
Still… good riddance.
