UP-4, UP-8, Flu-flyaway, and P-881are the project names under which zoonotic diseases were being studied in an effort to create transmittable illnesses, this included active coronavirus research in certain labs.

The US has gone on record stating that although these labs were doing this research, it was above board and public knowledge and not weapons related.
However, it should be noted that the US is also adamantly against any international investigation into any of the labs themselves, as they declared angrily at the UN security council yesterday when Russia invoke Article VI and requested an international investigation take place.
