@nero_eth @TimBeiko I would favor an EIP to increase calldata cost, perhaps back to the original 68 per nonzero byte, now that we have EIP-4844 blobs for data-heavy use cases.It would address the worst-case data issues and add breathing room to raise not just gas limit but also blob count target.

@potuz1 @nero_eth @TimBeiko I don't think using calldata as a "fallback" to blob space is a healthy pattern that we should be encouraging? Feels really wasteful if rollups end up maintaining two code paths.Better to just restrict calldata and use that as an opportunity to add even more blob space.
