The authorities did not say why they had barred Cenk Uygur and Hasan Piker, who have popular social media channels, but said their presence “may not be conducive to the public good.”
Britain said on Monday that it had blocked entry to two prominent American commentators, Cenk Uygur and Hasan Piker, because of their “potential risk” to British society, a decision that came amid debate about the limits of free speech in the country.
Mr. Uygur and Mr. Piker, two progressive activists with popular social media channels, were set to speak at events in Britain this week. Both expressed outrage on social media and accused the British authorities of canceling their travel authorizations because of their vocal criticism of Israel.
The British Home Office, which manages border security, said in an emailed statement that the authorizations of the two American commentators had been canceled because their presence in Britain “may not be conducive to the public good.” The Home Office said that a decision to deny entry for that reason was “based solely on an assessment of the potential risk an individual may pose” to British society.
The statement did not mention Mr. Uygur and Mr. Piker’s criticism of Israel nor any of their other views. The Home Office declined to answer questions about the case or about the accusations from the two commentators that they were being targeted for their statements on Israel.
Nick Shirley goes to the UK to support an anti Muslim soccer hooligan rally and agitate for the overthrow of the Labour government, yet he was welcomed into the country by them.
What's the answer here besides there are no real politics in Britain other than the interests of Zionism and Jews?

👮♂️ 🇬🇧 🔒 Vickrum Digwa has been jailed for life with a minimum term of 20 years and 190 days for the murder of Henry Nowak.
Judge William Mousley KC noted Digwa’s attempts to lie to police, cover up his actions, and the “significant community impact” of the crime were aggravating factors that increased the minimum term to 23 years.
It was reduced to 21 years due to mitigating factors, including his age and previous good character, before time already served in custody was taken into account.

Some of the other critique I’m seeing that seems to be legit is that the European Commission will not accept signatures that you collect on your own website. You must apparently first be ”approved” by the Commission first (stupid I know but that’s what it is) and you must use their internal system to collect signatures. So what for are signatures/names/emails being collected for? Just curious. I’ve asked them to adress this under their X post.
I respect Dries and Sellner, just addressing some of the concerns I’m seeing about this.

📝 🇬🇧 👮♂️ The Murder of Henry Nowak | Millennial Woes
🕯 An essay about the Henry Nowak murder, bringing all the known facts together.
Henry Nowak was an 18 year-old from Essex, of Polish descent. He was intelligent and did well at A-levels. With those, he got onto an Accountancy & Finance degree at the University of Southampton. A well-adjusted, social and ambitious young man, he was also responsible, working part-time at a supermarket to help support himself. His family said:
Henry was loved by all those that knew him. He was an incredible son, brother, cousin, grandson, nephew, friend and teammate. He was an all-round top lad and everyone who was lucky enough to share his company thought the same.
Vickrum Singh Digwa, a 22 year-old Sikh, lived nearby in his family’s house on St Denys Road. Oddly enough, he also worked in accountancy, being accepted by a local firm. However, his own community were wary of him; they had barred him from a temple for bad behaviour. Fulfilling religious requirements, he wore a small “kirpan” dagger around his neck, under his clothing. But he is in a Sikh order called the Nihang, for whom carrying a second weapon is customary, so he also had an eight inch “shastar” sword hanging sheathed from his waist. Aside from any religious obligations, he was “obsessed” with bladed weapons and had trained with them since the age of twelve.
On the night, Digwa had just come home from a Deliveroo shift. At about 11:15pm, he left his house “to fetch some curried chips from a car” parked on Belmont Road.
The two men encountered each other on the pavement at number 70.
He inflicted three wounds: a slash to Nowak’s jaw, a stab to his lower body (possibly his groin), and a stab to his chest. The blade punctured Nowak’s lung and cut a major vein, slowly causing massive internal bleeding.
Digwa’s family arrived: mother Kiran Kaur, brother Gurpreet, and father (name unknown). Gurpreet was 26 at the time and himself had form for threatening people in public with a sword.
Digwa and his mother conspired in Punjabi, and she took the sword and left the scene. (This was all captured on video.) The sword was later found at their house, amongst a huge collection of bladed weaponry that Digwa had been amassing since childhood.
Meantime, the brothers concocted a story: Digwa was a victim of racist abuse and assault by Nowak. Given later comments made between them in a police van, it is possible that at this point Gurpreet genuinely didn’t know what had happened and was simply taking his brother’s word for everything.
Henry Nowak’s final hour was spent listening to alien people conspiring against him in a foreign language while using English to accuse him of racism and deceit. His final minutes were spent with British police dismissing his pleas for help. His final waking moments were spent in handcuffs, on a cold December ground, while all of the above continued around him.
Some bits of “fake news” have spread about the story:
the police officers were all female
they searched his phone and his father’s phone for evidence of racism
the “kirpan” legal exemption has only existed since 2019
in court, the judge reduced the charge from murder to manslaughter. (In fact, he gave the jury the option to find Digwa guilty of manslaughter if they couldn’t find him guilty of murder.)

A US research group has just issued a policy proposal calling on the US government to support Afrikaner self-determination.
In this paper, they consider the refugee program a positive contribution, but consider it incomplete if an area for Afrikaners in South Africa is not also supported.

The EU is drafting a new anti-China legal framework where affordable and competitive Chinese goods are essentially hit with tariffs to make them less competitive with other goods sold in the EU Common Market
The EU Commission has drawn up plans for a so-called “overcapacity instrument” that would allow the bloc to restrict Chinese access to market sectors that is due to be discussed by the college of commissioners next week
The European Parliament defined 'overcapacity' as producing more than the domestic market can consume, so any export-focused economy is in overcapacity and would thus be subject to the EU's 'overcapacity instrument'
The commission, which is also anxious to reduce what it describes as the EU’s “dependence” on foreign imports of products such as fertiliser, medicines and rare minerals, is also considering whether to propose legal changes that would force European companies to buy critical components from at least three different suppliers.
However, speaking at a press briefing in Beijing on Thursday (21 May), Chinese commerce ministry spokesperson He Yadong hit back remarking that “If we label trade surpluses as ‘overcapacity,’ then should EU’s exports of automobiles, pharmaceuticals, wine and cosmetics also be labeled as ‘overcapacity’?”.
Note: the 'overcapacity instrument' is different from the 'anti-subsidy' instrument which the EU has put in place in 2023 to combat the practice of foreign states using state subsidies to cheapen their goods when sold in foreign markets. The overcapacity instrument would apply in any sector which is deemed to be in overcapacity, regardless if the sector is genuinely competitive or inflated with subsidies to keep prices low.
The biggest loser in all of this would be the average EU consumer who would lose access to cheap high quality goods and will be forced to subsidise European industries which failed to adapt to new technologies and geopolitical developments.
Politicians frame it as avoiding a "China shock 2.0" but really this is choosing an even steeper self-inflicted decline than is already the case. The first "China shock" did de-industrialize Europe somewhat, but at least it made things cheaper for European consumers. If this becomes Europe's response to a second "China shock" not only it'd make everything more expensive but it'd do nothing for EU industry: you don't become competitive by banning the competition.
Take China for example: it became an industrialized nation not by restricting the access of foreign companies into its domestic market, instead welcoming them, copying and improving on their goods/success.

China threatens retaliation over new EU tool to curb Chinese ‘overcapacity’
Impose a so-called 'overcapacity instrument' aimed at reducing Chinese exports and we will hit back with "resolute countermeasures", Beijing has warned the EU.
Trump also accused Netanyahu of ingratitude since Trump had helped keep Netanyahu out of jail. At the heart of the matter was Trump’s frustration with Netanyahu not caving to his demands to cease bombing Lebanon, as Israel’s aggression risked jeopardizing Trump’s diplomacy with Iran.
The story has understandably been met with considerable skepticism. After all, there is a long and well-documented pattern of American presidents privately expressing anger and frustration with Israeli prime ministers while publicly standing shoulder-to-shoulder with them and continuing to support their policies.
Take Joe Biden as an example. In late December 2023, Axios reported that Biden’s frustration with Benjamin Netanyahu had become so intense that he abruptly ended a phone call with the Israeli leader, reportedly concluding the exchange with the terse remark: “This conversation is over.” Yet in practice, Biden remained firmly aligned with Israel’s conduct of the war in Gaza.
Two months later, NBC News reported that Biden had repeatedly referred to Netanyahu as an “asshole” in private conversations with aides and donors. But even as he vented his exasperation behind closed doors, Biden continued to arm Israel lavishly and shield it from mounting diplomatic and political pressure at the United Nations. The gap between private frustration and public policy could hardly have been more striking.
There are, however, a few important counterexamples—particularly from Trump’s second term—that suggest the Axios story is not entirely implausible. (Indeed, the report would have been far more difficult to believe had Axios claimed that Trump told Netanyahu, “Everybody loves you.”)
