🇯🇵🇨🇳 A member of the Japanese Self-Defense Forces (JSDF) went to the Chinese embassy in Tokyo and threatened to murder Chinese diplomats, causing a diplomatic incident amidst an already tense relationship between the PRC and Japan.

The Japanese soldier was detained and a knife was found upon his person. He is suspected to be a member of an extremist, anti-Chinese faction within the JSDF.

Beijing demanded a thorough investigation into the incident, an adequate criminal conviction and for Japan to guarantee the safety of Chinese diplomatic personnel.
