🇮🇷🇺🇸 - Economists Warn Rising Oil Prices May Push U.S. Into A Recession

Mark Zandi, Moody’s chief economist, wrote Monday that a recession is “once again a serious threat” and that the firm’s economic models placed the odds of a recession starting in the next 12 months at 49%, pointing to the latest decline in the job market.

That probability will likely increase if oil prices continue to surge during the Iran conflict, according to Zandi, who said every recession since World War II—except for a recession during the pandemic—was preceded by rising oil costs.

We have already issued clear and repeated warnings to your rulers about engaging in this dangerous path and involving their people in a major gamble with their fate. However, they have chosen to continue their blind subordination and make decisions that do not represent the will of their people, but are imposed on them from outside their borders, in the absence of any real sovereignty.

Therefore, they bear full responsibility for all the consequences that will result from this path.

🇶🇦⚡️🇮🇱🇺🇸Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesperson: The attack on facilities related to the South Pars gas field in Iran by Israel is a dangerous and irresponsible step amid the current military escalation in the region. Damage to energy infrastructure poses a threat to global energy security, the residents of the area, and its environment. We call on all parties to exercise restraint, adhere to international law, and act to reduce the escalation in a way that preserves the security and stability of the region.
