"Therefore, after having banished all the Jews from all your Kingdoms and realms, during this same month of January Your Highness ordered me to go with a sufficient fleet to the said regions of India. For that purpose I was granted great favors and ennobled; from then henceforward I might entitle myself Don and be High Admiral of the Ocean Sea and Viceroy and perpetual Governor of all the islands and continental land that I might discover and acquire."

President Andry Rajoelina has fled the country after the army sided with mass protests.
According to Reuters, he departed on a French military aircraft after the elite CAPSAT unit and parts of the gendarmerie joined the demonstrators.
The day before, Rajoelina flew by helicopter to Saint Marie Island on Madagascar’s east coast, then boarded a plane to the French island of Réunion in the Indian Ocean, from where he and his family reportedly flew on to Mauritius or the UAE.
Radio RFI, citing informed sources, reported that the evacuation of the Malagasy president was authorized by French leader Emmanuel Macron to ensure a peaceful transition.
The protests began on September 25 over water and electricity shortages but quickly escalated into an uprising against corruption and poverty. Rajoelina, who came to power after the 2009 coup, had rapidly lost the support of the security forces in recent weeks.
The likely interim leader of Madagascar will be Major General Demosphen Picolas, commander of the elite CAPSAT unit.

Rob Homans always wanted to be a soldier. A promising footballer as a youngster, he turned down scouts from Birmingham City so he could join the forces.
By the time he was 19, he was off for his first tour of Afghanistan. At 21, he went on his second Afghanistan tour.
Last August Rob Homans committed suicide after the Worcester City Council refused to give him housing and help him get back on his feet after a messy divorce.
Before he committed suicide, Rob Homans told his mother after being offered social housing in a drug-infested area:
'The system is just broke mum, look.' And he pointed over to these two guys that were sleeping in the doorway, and they were veterans too.
'I've got nothing against any section of the community. All I'm asking for is fairness. That hotel over there is full of refugees. Why can't I have that? If they can house them, why can't they house me temporarily till I get on my feet? I fought for this country and it means nothing.'

Homeless veteran took his life after being refused house by council
Homeless veteran Rob Homans (pictured) was just 35 when he took his own life. His mother has blamed the local council for not offering him his own house.
According to the Interior Ministry (MSWiA), Warsaw secured a special status that frees it from the obligation to host migrants or pay €20,000 for each person it refuses to take in.
The EU took into account Poland’s arguments about hosting millions of Ukrainian refugees and dealing with the crisis on the Belarusian border.
Prime Minister Donald Tusk confirmed the agreement: “There will be no relocation of migrants — none at all!”
According to TVN24, the special status will remain in effect for at least a year but may be extended due to ongoing migration pressure and Poland’s continued support for Ukraine.
While Poland is allowed to withdraw from the Migration Pact, in a desperate way to placate Polish nationalists who do not want their country to become the next France or UK, the EU is more than happy to economically cripple the economies of other dissenters like Slovakia and Hungary.

The Pentagon Press Association, which represents all reporters from all organizations working under the umbrella of the Pentagon Press Corps, has called the new restrictions a threat to the First Amendment, stating that the restrictions intend to “gag Pentagon employees and threatens retaliation against reporters who seek out information that has not been pre-approved for release.” While media outlets have stated that this “pledge” is part of a broader effort since January by the Trump Administration to limit information being provided to the public about goings-on within both the Pentagon and the U.S. Armed Forces.
So far only one outlet, One America News (OAN), has stated their intention to sign the pledge from the Pentagon.

On Friday night, Mr Macron stunned Paris by re-appointing Sébastien Lecornu as prime minister – just four days after Mr Lecornu had resigned, with his first government collapsing in record time.
For decades, the French presidency has relied on what political scientists call the fait majoritaire – the automatic parliamentary majority that traditionally followed a newly elected head of state.
That era is over.
Since Mr Macron lost his absolute majority in 2022, France has entered what historian Nicolas Roussellier calls “an age of tri-polarisation”.
Three irreconcilable blocs – a socialist and environmentalist Left, a pro-European liberal centre, and a sovereigntist far-Right – now dominate the National Assembly. None can command a majority.
As a result, asserted Mr Duhamel: “France has now moved beyond a political crisis. I think it’s a regime crisis.”
Even loyal centrists whisper the same fear: that the Fifth Republic, born amid the Algerian war and designed to end chronic instability, no longer fits a fragmented nation.

🇺🇸✡️ Trump's current and former US Ambassadors to Israel, Mike Huckabee and David M. Friedman, performed a rendition of "Sweet Home Alabama" in Israel titled "Sweet Home Yerushalayim."
The lyrics were changed to push for Greater Israel.
This was part of fundraiser for United Hatzalah over the weekend.
Hatzalah is the Zionist group that spread the "Hamas baked babies in ovens on October 7th" hoax (among many others).

Much optimism and fanfare today over the signing of the Israel-Hamas peace agreement. Despite all of the rhetoric, I have yet to see any evidence that Israel has actually agreed in principle or in writing to a two-state solution with a Palestinian state in Gaza and the West Bank.
We have no reason to believe that Israel has abandoned its pursuit of a greater Israeli state in the occupied territories in the past week. And it would be a mistake to think that Netanyahu is constrained by any written or verbal commitments made in order to secure this deal.

What seems far more likely is that Netanyahu was forced into a tactical retreat/strategic pause under overwhelming pressure from the international community and then Trump.
This agreement is partially the result of the actions by G7 nations like France, the UK, and Canada which defied Israel and the US by recognizing Palestine at the UN.
Ultimately it was Netanyahu’s failed strike against Qatar which decisively turned Trump against him and motivated him to pressure Israel to stop the conflict.
At the same time, Israel is beginning its counter-attack in US media with its acquisition of Tiktok and CBS, this strategic pause allows them to regain some ground on this front as well.
What’s more— in light of the rearmament of Iran and the Iranian regime’s expulsion of the IAEA, there will either be a grand bargain with Tehran over its nuclear program or a decisive confrontation with Israel. Prioritizing this matter probably required Israel to retreat from Gaza.

ZF Friedrichshafen AG is cutting 7,600 positions at its electrified drivetrain division as the German car-parts maker steps up its restructuring efforts to deal with poor demand.
Labor leaders have signed off on the reductions, which are part of a previously announced plan to let go as many as 14,000 workers this decade. Additional savings measures include delaying wage increases and reducing working hours in Germany, ZF said Wednesday. They’re expected to slash more than €500 million ($588 million) in costs by 2027.
The measures underscore the pressures on the German auto industry, which is reeling from sluggish demand in Europe, the cost of tariffs and rising competition from Chinese manufacturers. Robert Bosch GmbH said last week it will cut some 13,000 additional jobs, or about 3% of its global workforce, following similar savings measures from Continental AG and Schaeffler AG. Automakers including Volkswagen AG are dialing back production.
