🇷🇺 🇺🇦 Russians will allow Mariupol holdouts to surrender tomorrow

Tomorrow morning, from 0600 to 1300 local time, the Russian Armed Forces plan to hold their fire at the Azovstal, the last Ukrainian holdout in Mariupol, and allow its defenders to lay down their arms and surrender.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the forces trapped in the Azovstal have been frequently radioing their command asking for permission to surrender (apparently denied), and have nearly run out of food and water.

Of course, we must note that this decision is unilateral and it is unclear if anyone on the Ukrainian side actually plans on surrendering tomorrow morning.

🇷🇺 Russian Ministry of Defense: Update on the situation in Mariupol at 1000 hours

According to intercepted radio communication, the Ukrainian government forbade the last holdouts in the city from negotiating with the Russians, and apparently ordered that anyone willing to lay down their arms be shot on the spot.

About 400 of the surrounded men at the Azovstal are "foreign mercenaries," mostly from European countries and Canada. Radio conversations have been overheard in at least six foreign languages.

If they continue to resist, all of them will be destroyed.

At the request of Turkish President Erdogan, a special operation was carried out in the Primorsky district of Mariupol yesterday to free hostages held by Ukrainian Nazis in a Turkish mosque.

The mosque was secured and 29 militants, foreign mercenaries among them, were killed.

The hostages, citizens of (Azerbaijan), were freed and brought to safety.
