Avoid Romanticizing Everything!!

We often romanticize a lot of things in our life.
Romanticizing is good. Even necessary because it gives us motivation to move forward. It gives us hope.

But problem occurs when we get too attached to the outcome. We attach our feelings, our emotions, joy and happiness to it.
We start to believe that once we reach the destination, we will be satisfied, moreover we think we will feel fulfilled.

But in life, events rarely turns out as we want them to be.

When we don't get that much intensity of satisfaction that we were hoping, we feel disappointed.

And this disappointment can accumulate over time and create a feeling of hurt inside you.

Even the clouds overthinking before raining

Never Meet Your Heroes!!!

I recently heard this line and it made a lot of sense.
It actually gave words to my thoughts. I used to think in that direction but was not able to put words to it until now.

Sardar Udham Singh

Udham Singh was born on 26 December 1899 in the neighbourhood of Pilbad in Sunam, around 130 miles south of Lahore, Bharat (now Pakistan).
His parents dies in his early age only. His mother dies when he was just 3 and his father died when he was 7. He was than raised into an Orphanage (Central Khalsa Orphanage)

Now comes the day of Baisakhi- 13 April, 1919 (The day when the infamous Jallianwala Bagh Massacre took place).
As soon as he heard of it, he rushed there to help the wounded. That day only he took the pledge to take Revenge for the Massacre.

He got involved with Ghadar Party, got arrested and was sentenced to 5 years in prison.
Following his release in 1931, he reached London, England through Germany evading the Punjab Police surveillance (British).
Once in London, he worked under aliases like "Singh Azad" to plot the assassination of Michael O'Dwyer.

Shooting at Caxton Hall
On 13 March 1940, Michael O'Dwyer was scheduled to speak at a joint meeting at Caxton Hall, London.
Singh had entered the event with a ticket in his wife's name. He concealed a revolver inside a book, which had pages cut in the shape of a revolver.
As the meeting concluded, Udham Singh stood up and started walking towards the speaking platform (stage) on which Dwyer was standing.
Singh opens his book and pulls out his Revolver and fires two shots while approaching Dwyer.
One of these bullets passed through Dwyer's heart and right lung, killing him almost instantly. Dwyer feel on the ground like a sack of sand, and the pledge Sardar Udham Singh was finally fulfilled he took on the fateful day of 13 April, 1919.

He was arrested immediately after the shooting. On 1 April 1940, he was formally charged with the murder of Michael O'Dwyer, and remanded in custody at Brixton Police. While in custody, he called himself Ram Mohammad Singh Azad.

While awaiting his trial, Singh went on a 42-day hunger strike, before finally being force fed. On 4 June 1940, his trial commenced at the Central Criminal Court, Old Bailey. He was convicted of murder and sentenced to death.

On 31 July 1940, Singh was hanged at Pentonville Prison.
On this day every year, state holiday is held in the states of Punjab and Haryana and marches are held in Sunam (his hometown) by various organisations and every statue of him in the city is paid tribute with flower garlands.
Celebrated as The Martyrdom Day of Shaheed Udham Singh.
