— "Nearly 300,000 people passed through the “Maspalomas Pride By Freedom”, which on its 21st anniversary saw attendances match those from before the pandemic, according to a press release from the organizers.

The Freedom LGTB Association describes this last weekend as a "resounding success", in which the square of the Yumbo Shopping Centre, in Playa del Inglés, the traditional epicentre of Pride, was "almost completely filled".

Yet again the parade on Saturday was one of the main attractions, in which 19 vehicles and floats participated and toured the streets of Playa del Inglés.

"People from all over the world danced and had fun to the rhythm of the DJs on each float that ended their tour in the proudest square in the south of Gran Canaria," the statement says. There the music continued to play until the early hours of the morning with a full house at the shopping centre plaza and its surroundings."

Israel is preparing for war with Iran

▪️ Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz said that Iran is weeks away from obtaining the material needed to build a nuclear weapon. He noted that the development of Iranian ballistic missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles and other military technology have reached the point where an urgent response is needed.

▪️ In this regard, the Israel Defense Forces exercise will begin on May 29 and will last one month. All units of the armed forces, including reserve formations, will be involved.

▪️ The purpose of the exercise is to simulate war with Iran and proxy formations in Syria and Lebanon, as well as countering terrorist groups in Israeli territory. The scenario of air strikes against Iranian nuclear and military facilities will also be practiced.

▪️ Characteristically, in planning a direct confrontation, the Israeli leadership took into account the strict need for direct U.S. involvement and the availability of their advanced weapon systems on Israeli territory.

▪️ However, Washington is certainly not ready to support the Israelis yet: the Biden administration is in another "advanced" stage of negotiations on the nuclear deal with Iran. At the moment, getting involved in another conflict against the backdrop of confrontation with Russia and China is fraught with consequences in the form of a new round of economic crisis.

▪️ In order to change the mind of the American government, Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz went to Washington. He intends to hold talks on the "Iranian threat" with his American counterpart Floyd Austin and Jake Sullivan, the US president's national security advisor.

🔻 It is unlikely that the White House is now planning to go to war with Iran. Both for the U.S. and for the rest of the world, such a scenario would mean another jump in oil prices, which would have an even greater impact on inflation.

But the Israeli leadership will try to make the most of the current situation. They will focus on the precariousness of Iran's real positions in order to force the U.S. to abandon the nuclear deal.

The Israelis will try to bluff Iran's tough negotiating position in order to cover the acute socio-economic problems that are already manifesting themselves in the form of nationwide protests in the Islamic republic.

Important to keep in mind that the Middle East has been fairly active this year, it has simply gone unnoticed due to the focus on Ukraine and other issues.

From a bird's eye view, Israel is transitioning towards a more hands-on approach as the direct American military presence wanes in the region. That isn't to say that the U.S. won't spend billions on military aid for these wars. The direct American involvement in the region during the past, fulfilled Israel's foreign policy goals for the Clean Break Initative. Essentially using Americans as a sledgehammer to weaken Israel's enemies so that they themselves could target weaker prey. Whether or not this truly weakened them is debatable.

It also seems that Israel is wary of the ramifications from disturbing Arabs. They decided to cancel a segment of their Chariots of Fire exercise that simulated war with Hezbollah. This was set was to take place in Israel's third largest Arab city, Umm el Fahm. The local mayor, Samir Sobhi Mahamed said: “Needless to say, moving armored personnel carriers inside the city that simulates a battle against Hezbollah has a dramatic effect on the feelings of the residents. As mayor of the city, I do everything within my power to promote co-existence and improve the image of the city as well as the quality of life within it. And I am afraid these kinds of military exercises are harmful to those goals.”

This will be an important region to look at this decade as Israeli funded smart cities pop up across the gulf states and regional powers dispute over hydrocarbons in competing exclusive economic zones.

Such protests obviously divert the Iranian Government's attention from international affairs to deal with domestic instability. It is worth noting that this is the fifth time in just 1 year that the various factions of the Iranian opposition have tried to cause a national rebellion in Iran.

At the same time, Israel is again facing internal political crises, albeit sporadic, as the Rightist Naftali Bennett, who leads a Frankenstein-esque Govt, — A Coalition that unites from parties of Secular Russian Jews & Conservative Zionists to Labor Zionists & Arab-Israeli Parties — face tensions at home, with the Palestinian factions gradually becoming a source of tension within Israel & Occupied West Bank, the last that little by little has become more and more militarized by both sides, thus becoming yet another battlefront, albeit by proxy, between Israelis and Iranians, a scenario notoriously inserted in the military exercises announced by the IDF as one of the battlefronts against Iran

Such a point of eventual militarization of the West Bank and its eventual transformation into a battlefield is one of the highlights in the now-announced massive exercises by Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz, published by us here

The problem with the consideration of the idea of a clash between Persians and Israelis, as noted by CIG, is that Washington does not want such a confrontation, a priori, as it wants a Quid Pro Quo with Tehran (the Nuclear Agreement for the stabilization of the energy market)

Such a scenario, ultimately, could lead to the apocalyptic scenario where Israel and its regional allies, like Samson, would have to face their Persian enemies, alone, and, worse, with an increasingly unfavorable public-international opinion.
