✨The cryptocurrency market in the past week became active when prominent projects announced improvements and new products during the ETHDenver Conference in the US.
✨Over the past week, the crypto market decreased ~$55B (from ~$1075B to ~$1020B) of its total capitalization
✨Bitcoin Maintains $22K
✅The low trading volumes of last weekend helped Bitcoin remain around $23K for most of it. The start of the working week saw the asset pushing toward $24K, and BTC managed to tap that level once on Wednesday, but that was a brief and unsuccessful attempt to reclaim it.
✅Bitcoin remained stuck between $23K and $24K for most of the week until Friday. This is where the landscape changed amid the Silvegate issues. Bitcoin plummeted by over $1K in minutes and fell to an 18-day low of just under $22K.
✅Nevertheless, some crypto analysts continue to debate the potential reasons behind this drop. Still, BTC managed to bounce off and reclaims some value. It spiked to $22,6K during the weekend but failed and retraced back to $22,4K.

✨Bitcoin lost the $20K mark, and the cryptocurrency market crashed back to mid-January levels as negative news hit the market in just the past 7 days. Then on March 10, the crypto industry fell into a new crisis when the second largest stablecoin in the market: USDC depeg seriously.
✨Over the past week, the crypto market increased ~$8B (from ~$1020B to ~$1028B) of its total capitalization
✨USDC Recovers to $0.98
✅USDC's depeg has been the hottest topic in the cryptocurrency market throughout the past 48 hours.
✅USDC's price crashed and burned below $0.90 for the first time. This happened Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) – one of the largest financial institutions in the fintech world, was essentially shut down by regulators.
✅It turns out that Circle holds a whopping $3.3B of the cash reserves backing USDC at SVB, suggesting that until the bank's issues are resolved (if), USDC is not backed 1-to-1 by the USD. But Circle was to release a statement, reassuring that even if the money at SVB is lost, they will cover any shortfall:
"In such case, Circle, as required by law and under stored-value money transmission regulation, will stand behind USDC and cover any shortfall using corporate resources, involving external capital if necessary."
✅This appears to have calmed the sentiment as USDC recovered to around $0.98 at this time.
