Hi hi people, This isnβt really the message I planned to post today. I was supposed to share an update of v2.5, but instead I feel like I need to say something.
Let me tell you a small story.
Back in the old days, there were modders who would take someone elseβs work, change a few small things, and then present it as their own. Unfortunately, that kind of mentality still shows up from time to time.
In the custom ROM world we actually have tools to avoid that git history, authorship, co-authorship, proper credits to all the things that help acknowledge the people who originally built something.
But recently it feels like some people prefer the old modder approach: take a big feature, add a bit of extra βfatβ to it, rename it, and suddenly it becomes their own creation. Proper credit or co-authorship? Hell nah it's our own feature rn.
And honestly, this isnβt the first time.
Whenever we create or adapt something new, we push it openly to GitHub. We donβt hide it, because open source is meant for everyone in the community to learn from and benefit from.
On the other end whatβs ironic though is that some people publicly call our ROM βheavyβ "bad" etc.. donβt seem to have any problem quietly picking our work and acting like nothing happened. Just Be Respectful and Be cool with others .
Open source is about sharing, yes. But itβs also about respect especially for the people who actually spent the time building things in the first place..
We aren't here to enter into dramas ,we are here for actual "Development" .. Peace out & thank you ..
And Yea finally v2.5 got delayed due to "unexpected stuff"
