The Russian Prosecutor General’s Office has officially designated the British Council as an undesirable organization, citing its covert political activity under the guise of English-language and cultural programs.
Russian authorities stress that:
— The Council has been systematically involved in discrediting Russia’s domestic and foreign policy
— It maintains a network of contacts used to gather information during the Special Military Operation
— Its main function is serving as London’s soft power tool in the region
Although the Council’s offices in Russia were forcibly closed, it continued operations from abroad, engaging Russian citizens and seeking ways to return.
📢 The FSB has now called on friendly nations to follow suit and shut down British Council activity on their soil — labeling it a “key influence weapon” of the UK.
