❗️Meanwhile Russia is rebuilding her Empire in Crimea. The huge building project was ordered by Vladimir Putin and organised by Metropolitan Tikhon (Shevkunov).

The ancient city of Chersonesus was located on the shore of the Black Sea 2,500 years ago on the outskirts of present-day Sevastopol on the Crimean Peninsula, where it is referred to as Khersones. The site is part of the National Preserve of Tauric Chersonesos.

The construction of the complex was also actively promoted by Metropolitan Tikhon Shevkunov of the Russian Orthodox Church, who became the head of the Crimean Metropolis of the Russian Orthodox Church in 2023.

Shevkunov has long had a close relationship with the Russian president; in the Russian media he is often called “Putin’s spiritual mentor.”
