⚠️AZ Gubernatorial Candidate Matt Salmon Friendly with Anti-Audit Supervisor Jack Sellers

If anyone was wondering why Matt Salmon has been reluctant to help #FinishTheAudit, it's because of his long-standing friendship with the leader of the Maricopa County BOS Jack Sellers.

This is the rot of the AZ political establishment.

When Diplomacy Fails, Bring in the Marines: AZ Senator Sonny Borrelli “Confident General Brnovich Will Follow Through” | OAN

OAN’s Natalie Harp huddled up with retired Marine and AZ State Senate Majority Whip “Gunny” Borrelli to learn more about his 1487 request to the AZ Attorney General’s office.

In his request, Borrelli cited 4 statues:

41-1151 Issuance and service of legislative subpoena

41-1153 Disobedience of subpoena as legislative contempt

41-1154 Disobedience of legislative subpoena or refusal to give testimony or produce papers; classification

16-624 Disposition of official returns and ballots

ARS 41-1154 is the crux statute in Borrelli’s filing. As we reported yesterday, it classifies disobedience of a legislative subpoena as a class 2 misdemeanor. According to SB 1487, General Brnovich is obligated to investigate any alleged violations of the law by a county if a member of the state legislature makes a formal request.

Although Senator Townsend recently voiced skepticism about the AG’s enforcement authority with respect to legislative subpoenas, Borrelli remains optimistic: “this was pretty much handed to him on a silver platter… the statute is pretty clear - disobedience of a [legislative] subpoena is a class 2 misdemeanor.” Borrelli added, “I’m hoping we’ll see something [from the AG’s office] within the next 7 days.”

AZ Rep. Jake Hoffman: “Where the Hell is Attorney General Mark Brnovich?”| OAN

Arizona State Representative Jake Hoffman joined Christina Bobb tonight to weigh in on the Maricopa County Supervisors appalling contempt for the state legislature and the voter-initiated Maricopa audit.

“The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors is engaged in one of the most divisive and dangerous subversions of government that the state of Arizona has ever witnessed,” Hoffman said. “Where the hell is AG Mark Brnovich? We have an Election Integrity Unit that the legislature created years ago in the the AG’s office. It’s now been 10 months! since the election and we haven’t heard word one from him,” Hoffman pointed out.

Bobb asked about Borrelli’s 1487 request and the likelihood of Brnovich opening a criminal investigation. “Quite frankly, I think it depends on how many emails and phone calls he gets from… voters.”

❗️We’ve been given our marching orders, let’s go! Attorney General Mark Brnovich:

Navarrete faces multiple counts of sexual conduct with a minor, among other charges, police said.

How are vacancies handled in the AZ Legislature

Arizona is one of twenty-two states that fill vacancies in the state legislature through appointments:

“If there is a vacancy in the Arizona State Legislature, the board of county supervisors must select a replacement. The political party committee is involved in the appointment process only if the legislative district has thirty or more elected Precinct Committeemen… The person selected to fill the seat serves the remainder of the unfilled term.”

- Ballotpedia

Navarrete’s Senate District 30 is situated in central Maricopa County. Jack Sellers and his criminal crew would be in charge of filling any vacancies.

I have to take the high road.  Others will be taking the heavy road for me.  When we go to court over this I will need to show measured responses compared to their arrogance and flagrant disregard for the law. We have a plan.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Statement from Senate President Fann

"Given the information documented in the findings of probable cause released by authorities, I am awaiting Senator Navarrete's immediate resignation. These are serious and alarming charges that require Senator Navarrete to step down immediately. Our hearts are with the victims; child abuse and sexual misconduct are intolerable in every circumstance. We have confidence in our criminal system and pray that due justice will aid in the long road to healing for those involved."
Senator Townsend Asks Ducey to Call a Special Session to Remove Senator Navarrete

Apparently there is a recorded confession, and if true, I call on Doug Ducey to call us into special session to remove him from the legislature immediately.

Navarrete, 35, is accused of repeatedly abusing a boy with whom he was living over a period of several years, according to court records. The boy, now 16, told detectives that Navarrete touched his genitals with his hands and mouth, starting when he was around 12 or 13 and continuing through his 15th birthday.

In a phone call recorded by police on Thursday afternoon, Navarrete apologized to the teen, saying he regretted his actions and would have to live with them for the rest of his life... When asked why he did it, he told the boy he “wasn’t well,” detectives wrote.

The governor may call a special session. In calling a special session, the governor shall specify the subjects to be considered, and at such special session no laws shall be enacted except such as relate to the subjects mentioned in the call.”

Regardless of how many seats are occupied, we still need 16 votes to pass any bill or resolution, or expulsion.
