Amillennialism (a type of preterism) is kind of like atheism in that it takes a clear truth (there will be a 1,000 reign of Christ, and God exists, respectively), and then they base their theology or philosophy as being contrary to that clear truth. So right away this view should raise eyebrows, and it would need ample Biblical support to be a viable position.

Such support is not found in Scripture.

Preterist adherents of amillennialism believe that Satan is currently bound right now in the Abyss, and he has no present influence on the world.

No, I'm not making that up. They really believe that.

Anyone with eyes to see and ears to hear can observe the powerful influence that old serpent currently has on individuals and our world.

Contrary to such nonsense, the Bible states that "evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived" (2 Tim. 3:13). Things will grow worse in the world as the final end times approach.

A worsening world heading towards the way things were in the "Days of Noah", is not compatible with the amillennialist view that Jesus is presently ruling and reigning on the earth.

Augustine of Hippo, who introduced such heresies as purgatory, divine determinism (the predestination doctrine of his pagan roots), also promoted amillennialism which has its roots in Gnosticism.

Like the Ministry Compelling Truth states,

"This point of view, and the scholars who originated it, is informed more by Greek philosophy than biblical truth. The popular view of Gnosticism taught that the physical was corrupted, and only the spiritual was capable of good. It was a short slide to then believe that the perfect Son of God could not rule over a physical kingdom, so His reign must be over the immaterial hearts and souls of mankind."

Partial Preterists deny the timeframe requirements and negate their own proof text.

πŸ‘‰πŸ» Partial Preterism is a self-contradicting theory.

It looks at their precious β€œtimeframe references” such as those found in the Olivet discourse and says, "Aha, these events must happen by 70 AD!" Then it turns around and negates that very timeframe by placing one of those events (the second coming) in the future, thousands of years after the very deadline set by their own proof texts.

Jesus is coming back to set up His millennial kingdom, just as the Bible says. πŸ“–

2 Timothy 2:16-18

But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.

Just like the lies of Hymenaeus and Philetus turned people away from the faith by claiming that future events had already happened, the vain babblings of preterists that deny the plain meaning of scripture do the same today.

As far as the β€œchurch fathers” (early Christian writings) and preterism are concerned, there is zero indication from known writings of the church fathers that anyone understood the New Testament prophecies from a preterist perspective.

There are no early church writings that teach that Jesus returned (physically or spiritually) in the first century.

None! Zero!

When Christ returns, NOBODY will miss it. Full preterism is absurd heresy.

Nah, a lot of it is literal.

Everything in the sea died and all the green grass burned up in AD70?

Didn’t happen!

God is pouring out his wrath on the whole earth at the end, not just those wicked Jews in Jerusalem.

You cannot believe the bible and believe that it all happened in AD70.

When were these verses ever fulfilled in the life of Nero?

Nero never gathered his armies with other kings of the earth to make war with the returning Christ from heaven
(Rev 19:11-18).

Nero was not cast alive into the lake of fire. He died in Rome on June 9, A.D. 68.

History never records that Nero had a henchman like the false prophet.

There was never a time when Nero's army was slaughtered and fed to the birds after he was cast alive in the lake of fire.

β€œPreterist” is just another way for someone to say that they reject God’s Word.

Postmillennialism is a variant of preterism. It’s a man-centered doctrine of the flesh that has been rebranded as dominionism or Christian Nationalism.

Reality refutes this absurd unbiblical idea every day…..

Nero was the AntiChrist? Nope.

2 Thessalonians 2:8
And THEN shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming

This didn’t happen with Nero, who killed himself in 68 a.d., two years before the full preterist heretic alleges the 2nd coming happened

2 Thessalonians 2:4
Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshiped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.

Something that Nero never did. He never even stepped foot in Jerusalem.

He cannot be the antiChrist which is a FUTURE figure yet to be revealed.
