Testament & covenant are two different words with different meanings; a testament, not a covenant, always involves the testator's death: "For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator" (Hebrews 9:16 KJB) BUT a covenant is an agreement between God and a man or between two+ people, depending on the verses' words & context:

Modernism denies that Jesus is God, denies that Jesus rose from the dead, and denies that we have a perfect Bible in our own language to read. Cyprian (200 or 210 AD - 258AD) quoted all of 1 John 2:23: "John too: "Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father; he that acknowledgeth the Son, hath both the Son and the Father." Cyprian's quotation of 1 John 2:23 matches with the KJB's words that quote 1 John 2:23: Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. (1 John 2:23

This is more evidence that 1 John 2:23 is biblical & should be in regular text, not italics, since Cyprian lived 150-200 years after the New Testament was completed and had access to direct copies (of the original New Testament), which contained all 1 John 2:23's words including the above underlined words.
