So it seems like you can still do secret, encrypted chats so I don’t know why they’re even making a press release about this unless it’s either to make it look like Durov is actually doing something or just to stir up shit on Telegram.

Telegram has never used actual encryption for basic chats. So the article above just seems to be some kind of bait.
