Prometheus is a consciousness-raising civilizer.
His monument is a valorizing of the great inborn power of Man to manifest destiny.
He exclaims - โGive me freedom or give me worse than death.โ There is no more American symbol.

Myth of Freemasonry Being Exclusive In Favor of the French Revolution
In reality, there were Freemasons in all camps. Thus the Duke of Luxembourg, right-hand man of the Grand Master and initiator of the foundation of the Grand Orient of France, emigrated as early asJuly 1789.
An Aristocratic lodge like "La Concorde" in Dijon was scuttled as soon as August 1789.
The Grand Master of the Grand Orient himself, who became โPhilippe-รgalitรฉโ, publicly renounced Freemasonry in1793, shortly before ending up on the scaffold. And if the Grand Orient proclaims its attachment to the democratic form of government from January 1789, he was forced to cease his activities by the Terror of 1793โ1796.
Purge of Freemasons in the French Revolution
While there were nearly 1,000 lodges on the eve of the Revolution, only 75 lodges will be able to resume their work in 1800.
