I just sent the following email to the Wollongong University Student Association:
“Dear WUSA,
Thank you so much for assisting One Nation yesterday during your anti-Hanson protest. The public reaction to both reporting from the Illawarra Mercury and from social media posts on Instagram has been very positive for One Nation and not so much for WUSA and your supporters.
Being anti-democratic and unreasonable is a losing strategy for middle Australia. The more you carry on with your nonsense, the more you will drive ordinary Australians to vote in Pauline Hanson as Australia's Prime Minister.
A more constructive approach would be to have a civilised debate about the core issues impacting both the Illawarra and Australia. I am prepared to engage in any such discussion/debate whether it be via a debate on campus (I am an alumni member of UOW), a podcast or even a debate hosted by the Illawarra Mercury or ABC Illawarra.
I am open to civil discourse if you are prepared to do so. But maybe you are afraid to debate because the facts are not on your side.
In any case, thanks again. Maybe we can do it again soon.

The Illawarra Mercury is hosting a formal debate between myself & Ryan Chapman who is running for the Socialist Party in the seat of Wollongong at the 2027 NSW state election!
The debate will be recorded by the Illawarra Mercury & published online. A news article will be published reporting on the debate!
