A few points of consideration:
- it depends on your life goals & circumstances. For me, having no mortgage gives me maximum flexibility to work on various projects.
- the Australian dollar is at a 5 year low against the USD, similar to 2020.
- if the tariffs come off, the Australian dollar will rally, allowing you buyback gold & silver cheaper in AUD terms.
- if the tariffs remain, it will mean that US interest rates will not be cut (they may actually go up) in 2025 which puts a cap on gold & silver prices in US dollar terms over the next 6 - 12 months.
- if gold & silver prices do go up, the Australian dollar will almost certainly go up as well.
In this case, the rate of return in Australian dollar terms will be quite limited.
- if you have no debt, carry on as you aware.
The reason why I survived the pandemic is because I had no debt & thus I was under no stress to take the jab.
I know people who are either dead or injured from the vaccine. At the end of the day, this is a survival game.

A member of the Canberra press gallery tells me this morning that Dutton needs a swing of 6% - 7% to form majority government.
Current polling suggests there is a 3.5% national swing to the Coalition - meaning that the Coalition can achieve more seats than Labor in the House of Representatives, but will be a post election negotiation with only 2 teals losing seats to the Coalition. (This would suggest that the ALP is likely to come back as minority government).
Apparently, the strongest swing to the Coalition is in Victoria, but some of the 6% swings to the Coalition are in safe Labor seats - meaning that the swing is happening in the wrong places to have any impact on the configuration of the House of Representatives!
