Dividing large tasks into smaller ones, so small that you can easily done them without further research - is a legitimate ADHD tactic to overcome procrastination. If you need research to do the task - it's another task. Also dividing tasks into the smaller ones is another task, but you can do it while working on your to-do list.
If you think on your task and divide it beforehand, you will see it's complexity sooner than you start working on the task, thus you face less frustration.
